The player who sees the game early, controls its rhythm and moves the team with purpose. Our two foundation models are Gérson and the early Franz Beckenbauer.
Receive
Open the body. Make the first touch prepare the next action.
Decide
Know when to accelerate the game and when to calm it.
Pass
Short, vertical, diagonal, switch, disguise, through ball — always with purpose.
Move
Never admire the pass. Reposition immediately and become available again.
Command
Use voice, gesture and positioning to organize teammates before danger arrives.

THE LEARNING SEQUENCE
Eight Pass Master Segments
1. Scanning & Awareness
Before the ball arrives, the General should already know where pressure is coming from and where the next pass can go.
COACH QUESTION: “What did you see before you received?”
2. Body Position & First Touch
Receive half-turned whenever possible. The first touch should not simply stop the ball — it should prepare the next action.
PLAYER LAW: Your first touch is your first pass — to yourself.
3. The Art of Passing
Master the five-yard escape pass, wall pass, vertical line-breaker, diagonal switch, disguised pass, through ball and long aerial pass.
PLAYER LAW: Accuracy is not enough. Weight and timing matter.
4. Control the Tempo
The General decides when the team accelerates and when it slows down, moves the opposition and waits for the right opening.
COACH QUESTION: “Do we attack now — or move them first?”
5. Pass & Move
No standing and admiring the pass. Immediately move to create a new angle, offer support or become the escape route.
PLAYER LAW: Pass → Move → Create Angle → Receive Again.
6. Communication & Command
The Pass Master talks with useful information: Time. Turn. Man on. Hold. Switch. Go. One more.
PLAYER LAW: Command before the ball arrives.
7. Pass to the Future
The elite passer does not merely pass to where a teammate is standing. He reads the teammate’s movement and the next space.
PASS MASTER LAW: Pass to where the player and the game are going.
8. The General's Responsibility
See the whole team. Solve pressure. Give teammates confidence. Make the difficult game look simple.

Before You WatchFirst viewing: follow the ball. Second viewing: watch the players away from it. Third viewing: watch Carlos Alberto and ask when his run becomes possible.

Head up → Run starts → Pass released → Finish. The run creates the pass as much as the passer does.

TRAINING GROUND

Scan Before Receive
Before every pass into the player, coach holds up a number or calls a side. Player identifies it before first touch.
02
Three-Range Passing
Short combination, medium line-breaker, long diagonal. Quality and decision matter more than power.
03
Tempo Game
Small-sided possession where the General is rewarded for recognizing when to play one-touch and when to slow the action.
04
Pass & Reposition
Every pass must be followed by immediate movement into a new supporting angle. Standing still ends the sequence.
